Twitter cancel $8 blue tick subscription

Elon Musk's decision to pay $8 a month for Blue Tick on Twitter has been canceled for the time being. Announced on November 1, the arrangement began on November 8 in the US, Canada, and New Zealand, and Australia after the US midterm elections.

But after some fake Twitter accounts from these countries received Blue Ticks by paying $8 and started tweeting fakes from those verified accounts, Twitter canceled the rule of paying fees for Blue Ticks from Friday.

Before Musk bought Twitter, only celebrities, journalists, and leaders used to receive account verification or blue ticks on Twitter. But Musk introduced new rules, making it possible for anyone with a phone, a credit card, and the ability to spend $8 a month to get a Blue Tick.

By abusing the new rules that allow Twitter account verification by paying money, fake accounts from Jesus Christ to former US President George W. Bush started tweeting.

A man in the US received a Blue Tick by creating a fake account for pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly & Company and tweeted that insulin was available for free from his company.

The company suffered a loss of 120,000 crores when the company's shares fell with this tweet. The company then had to issue a public apology saying that someone had tweeted such a mistake from its fake but verified account.

It didn't stop until one company's fake Blue Tick account, the fighter aircraft manufacturer Lockheed Martin also tweeted that it would not provide arms to the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia through a fake Blue Tick account. Because of this tweet, the shares of Lockheed Martin in the American stock market have also fallen.

Similarly, Elon Musk's company Tesla has also become a victim of $8 fake Blue Tick accounts.

Tweeting from Tesla's fake Blue Tick account, Tesla wrote that it would give 10,000 vehicles filled with sophisticated weapons and explosives to the Ukrainian army.

Twitter said that under the names of prominent celebrities and blue-ticked Twitter accounts, the official bar would be written. However, the new feature called Official has also been closed by Twitter within a few hours.

Within 72 hours of its launch, Twitter finally closed the $8 Blue Tick plan after a fake Blue Tick account created a commotion on Twitter. However, Elon Musk supports this $8 Blue Tick plan and says it will stop fake accounts.

Musk criticized the mainstream media and the media elite and said increasing competition from citizen journalism would block mainstream media information.

In a Friday tweet, he mentioned Twitter's goal of elevating citizen journalism. He claims that Twitter is pursuing the goal of uplifting citizen journalism, but the media elite will try to do everything to stop it from doing so. In another tweet, he mentioned that the mainstream media will still flourish, but the increasing competition with citizens will limit them.

Even after terminating the Twitter deal, Elon Musk described the issue of fake accounts as a significant problem on Twitter. Twitter introduced Blue Tick in 2009 to distinguish real and fake accounts of celebrities and companies.
